WARDOGS update: the newest official update, then every one before it
The newest official WARDOGS update is Season 02, released as Update 0.2.0 on October 15, 2026. It added four weapons — the TCX Spear assault rifle, the M14 DMR, the PP-19 Bizon SMG and the Evo-3 Ultra LMG — the Molotov, four vehicles (Wolf-110, Wolf-110 Assault, T-72 and Flakpanzer Gepard), a rain weather preset and an aim assist strength slider. As of October 26, 2026, BULKHEAD has posted nothing newer in its official Steam news hub, and has not announced a Season 03 or a date for one. Below, every official update is listed newest first, each with what changed and what you need to do after installing it. Only announcements in BULKHEAD’s official Steam news hub are listed; press articles are not updates.
The latest update: Season 02 (Update 0.2.0), October 15, 2026
Announced as “WARDOGS | SEASON 02 IS NOW LIVE”, with the patch notes published the day before (“WARDOGS | Season 02 Patch Notes”, October 14). What changed:
- Four new weapons: the TCX Spear assault rifle, the M14 DMR, the PP-19 Bizon SMG and the Evo-3 Ultra LMG, plus new attachments — additional optics, muzzle devices, magazines and bipods.
- The Molotov, and four new vehicles: the Wolf-110, the Wolf-110 Assault, the T-72 and the Flakpanzer Gepard.
- A rain weather preset.
- An aim assist strength slider for controllers, under Settings > Controller > Advanced.
- A new Wager Vendor that lets you bet your own cash on your own performance — but it was not available at launch: the patch notes said it would open later in the season, and that it is intended to come and go during a season rather than stay permanently.
What you need to do: the season went live after a scheduled maintenance window on October 15 between 08:00 and 09:30 UTC, with roughly 90 minutes of downtime. If you tried to connect during that window, the “can’t connect” was maintenance, not a crash on your machine — BULKHEAD confirmed servers were back online once the update was out. If your client did not pick up Update 0.2.0, restart the game so Steam can download the new build, and if crashes follow, verify your game files (see the crash fix walkthrough below).
Every official update before that, newest first
IR Goggles & CIWS Balance Hotfix (October 2, 2026)
- IR Rangefinders were pulled from the vendor until Season 02, where they require batteries to use; BULKHEAD wrote that they had crossed the line into being too strong and sided with player complaints.
- The CIWS now destroys the Havoc in around 6 seconds instead of 12 — BULKHEAD said the previous patch had overcorrected.
What you need to do: nothing. There was no client download and no downtime — the balance change applied as servers restarted across regions.
WARDOGS | Security & Stability Hotfix (October 2, 2026)
- A hotfix for “minor security and stability issues affecting some players”; the post listed no gameplay changes.
- Applied at 08:00 UTC with about one hour of expected downtime.
What you need to do: if you could not connect around 08:00 UTC that day, that was the scheduled downtime, not something wrong with your PC. Nothing to install — it was applied server-side.
WARDOGS | Update 0.1.2 (Minor Patch) (September 30, 2026)
- Fixed the Windows 11 “WD-L020” crash error caused by the Windows update KB5124010.
- Closed egregious cash and XP exploits, and ended the earlier leniency toward first-time offenders: exploit abusers and real-money traders risk having their cash and progression reset, and a permanent ban.
- New DEPLOY flow: hit DEPLOY and choose Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level servers (these server types already existed — the update made them easier to find). The gamepad is now supported on the DEPLOY screen.
What you need to do: if you are hit by WD-L020 on Windows 11, update the game — the fix is in 0.1.2. Use the DEPLOY screen to pick your server type, and stay away from exploits and real-money trading: the leniency period is over.
SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE & PATCH 0.11 (September 12, 2026)
- Split the front end into Community and Official server browsers and removed the filters from the Official list; community servers gained more reliable filtering, text search, a Show Empty/Full toggle, joinable server IDs that persist between matches and restarts, and alphabetical naming rules.
- Fixed various cash exploits and more GPU crashes, and increased server capacity in Asia.
- Set the economy-abuse policy later repeated in Update 0.1.2: abusing cash exploits brings a timed ban and a cash/XP reset to 0, posting exploit tutorials is treated like advertising cheats and brings a permanent ban, and XP farming brings the most serious bans.
- As an apology for the poor server browser, community servers paid a bonus 5% end-of-match cash for one week.
What you need to do: servers were down about one hour on Monday, September 14 from 08:00 UTC — a failed connection in that window was maintenance, not a crash. Note your favourite community server’s ID: since 0.11 it survives restarts and map changes, so you can join by ID.
Launch Stability Hotfix #1 (September 10, 2026)
- Addressed launch-week problems: not being able to join servers, being kicked mid-match, and long login queues. BULKHEAD’s official wording was that the hotfix was “intended to address” these — not that they were fixed.
- Shipped as a client update.
What you need to do: restart the game to download the client update — that was the required step. If you still get kicked or crash afterwards, work through the crash fix steps.
Pre-Load Live & Season 1 Changelog (September 9, 2026)
- Fixed two crash paths in the frame generation pipeline, and made DLSS Frame Generation toggleable without restarting the game.
- Tuned progression to be deliberately slow: a median player at 20–25 hours sits around level 20, and top items take a long grind.
- Named the role XP tracks: Career, Medic, Support, Recon, Driver and Pilot.
What you need to do: if the game crashes during play, turning frame generation off is worth trying — that is an inference from the crash fixes, not an official instruction. Build your role by what you buy, and the matching XP track follows (see the beginner tips).
What to do when a WARDOGS update goes live
- Expect downtime around patches. Maintenance windows last about an hour (sometimes more — the Season 02 window was scheduled for 90 minutes), and a “can’t connect” during one is maintenance, not a crash.
- Restart the game once an update lands so Steam downloads the new client build — restarting was the required step for Launch Stability Hotfix #1.
- Still crashing after an update? Run Steam’s “Verify Integrity of Game Files” — it is Steam’s own repair tool for damaged or missing files.
- On Windows 11, the WD-L020 error means your game is older than Update 0.1.2 — update the game.
- Never use cash or XP exploits, and never trade items for real money: the official policy is a cash/progression reset and a possible permanent ban.
- Still stuck? Follow the full WARDOGS crash fix walkthrough, or take a breath and read the beginner tips.
