WARDOGS on Steam

Standard vs Supporter Edition

StandardSupporter Edition
Price (US Steam) $39.99 $49.99
What you get The full game The full game plus the Supporter Pack DLC (also sold separately for $12.99)
Does it affect gameplay? No No — the Supporter Pack is cosmetic only

The Supporter Pack contains: camos for three starter weapons (Valkyra A-91, Lonestar Bushmaster, Manticore KH-2002), a Little Bird "Taxi" camo, a scoreboard supporter icon you can hide, a grenade bobblehead, and a helmet bobblehead.

BULKHEAD's own rules on monetization: during Early Access the optional Supporter Edition is the only monetization. In-game cash and gold bars will never be sold, and camos will never be sold directly.

Steam Deck, Linux and Mac

Steam lists WARDOGS as Unsupported on Steam Deck. It is a Windows-only release: there is no native Linux or macOS version. About Proton, the developers have said they are working on it — no date has been announced.

To be confirmed: a date for Proton/Linux support.

Kernel-level anti-cheat and EULA

WARDOGS uses the anti-cheat Elytra, and Steam's page flags it as kernel-level. Kernel-level means the anti-cheat installs and runs a component deep inside Windows, at the same level of system access as the operating system itself. This guide has no official detail on exactly what the component does, so it will not guess.

The game also requires you to accept a third-party EULA — the WARDOGS EULA — before you can play. If you do not want to agree to it, do not buy the game.

Online requirements and servers

WARDOGS is an online multiplayer PvP game. It needs a broadband internet connection. The Steam store page lists no subscription requirement.

Community-hosted servers exist, and BULKHEAD has named three approved hosting partners: QONZER, BisectHosting and xREALM.

Update 0.1.2 (September 30, 2026) introduced the current DEPLOY server-select flow: you pick Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level. Per the official update, its purpose is to better highlight the Infantry Mode and Low-Level community servers that already existed. Fan guides recommend Low-Level community servers for new players.

Console versions

There are no console versions yet. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are listed for 2028. When they arrive, online play on those machines will need a paid subscription: on Xbox, Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate; on PlayStation, PS Plus. The Steam store page lists no subscription requirement.

Refunds

The developers themselves tell hesitant buyers to wait or refund: they encouraged people to refund if the beta did not meet their expectations, and said waiting for a later update or for 1.0 is "completely okay". For how Steam refunds work — the time window and conditions — see Steam's refund policy.
