WARDOGS game guide

WD-L020 crash on Windows 11? It came from Windows update KB5124010 and was fixed in WARDOGS Update 0.1.2 (Sept 30, 2026) — update the game.

This site is a fan-made guide to WARDOGS: what the game is, what you get on Steam, tips for new players, and fixes for crashes and errors.

The game

Up to 100 players in three teams fight over a Control Zone on a 256 km² map — in Steam Early Access since September 10, 2026, by developer BULKHEAD.

Steam editions

The base game is $39.99 and the Supporter Edition is $49.99 on US Steam; Windows only, Steam Deck listed as Unsupported.

Beginner tips

Kills do not score points — holding the Control Zone does. Every player starts with $10,000 of in-game cash, and cash carries over between matches.

Crash fixes

The WD-L020 crash was fixed in Update 0.1.2; launch-week join and kick problems were addressed by Launch Stability Hotfix #1, and Steam can verify game files.
